Maintenance Analyser
If you're wondering whether or not you will save money by taking out a maintenance contract for your next new car then we can help you find the right answer.
Our maintenance analyser can forecast service and repair schedules and costs for up to 5 years and 150,000 miles.
To get started take a look at our briefing below - it will help you understand what our analyser can do and how you can use it to help you make the right decision.
Even if you're a regular user then it may still help you to read it again anyway.
Think of it like the toolkit tucked away under your spare wheel; you want it to stay there, as long as you know it's there ....

What Does It Do?
Our maintenance analyser will compare instantly the cost of taking out a maintenance contract for a car with using an external vehicle maintenance management company or organising your own vehicle servicing and repairs.
Using forecast vehicle maintenance costs from reknown vehicle data company CAP-HPI our analyser can compare the cost of a maintenance contract with the forecast maintenance costs for your selected car for up to 5 years and 150,000 miles.
Not only that, you can compare maintenance cost forecasts for different vehicles side-by-side.
Getting Started
First we'll ask you about the car you want to analyse - just select a car from the manufacturer, range and model lists.
Operating Cycle
Once the vehicle is selected we'll ask you about the operating cycle for the vehicle.
This is the period you expect to keep the vehicle and the total mileage it will travel over that period. You can select up to 5 years (60 months) and up to 150,000 total miles.
Maintenance Forecast
Once you have selected the operating cycle we'll forecast the typical servicing and maintenance costs for the vehicle. You'll see a breakdown of forecast costs for:
- Scheduled servicing according to the manufacturer's service specification for the vehicle
- Non-scheduled maintenance of the vehicle outside the manufacturer's normal requirements and warranty cover
- Tyre replacement costs and schedules
- Brake pad/shoe/disc/drum replacement costs and schedules
- MOT test costs (excluding repairs required to pass the MOT - these are already in the forecast non-scheduled maintenance)
- Timing belt replacement (for vehicles kept beyond the typical life of a consumable type rubber/composite belt)
Maintenance Contract
We will also estimate the cost of a monthly maintenance contract for the vehicle at the selected operating cycle.
You can swap the estimate for an actual quote just by typing in the monthly amount (excluding VAT) that you have been quoted (just make sure your quote matches the operating cycle for your vehicle).
Maintenance Administration
As an alternative to a maintenance contract you can sometimes opt to have third-party vehicle maintenance specialist arrange your maintenance for you.
For this service some maintenance administration companies charge a monthly fee and others negotiate a discount with the servicing garage to cover their vehicle administration costs.
You can add in to the analysis the amount of any monthly fee (excluding VAT).
Changing Costs
You can change any of the forecast costs just by typing new values into the appropriate boxes.
Similarly, if data is missing (this may happen, for example, with new launch models) you can type in your own values.
You're Ready To Go!
Once you've completed the vehicle selection and made any required changes to the maintenance data you're ready to see the analysis results.
We'll show you the cost impact of:
-
taking a fixed maintenance contract;
-
using an external maintenance administration company for Pay-As-You-Go maintenance; and
-
arranging maintenance yourself on a Pay-As-You-Go basis.
Once you've analysed one vehicle you can also compare it side-by-side with other cars.
